GOOD TIMES AT NOTTING HILL

BRIEF:

Restructure the whole installation and logistics for Good Times Sound System Arena at Notting Hill Carnival, resource new suppliers while maintaining high production standards set from previous years, to ensure its stature and legacy for future years. Research and develop new income streams at the event to reduce the extensive event costs borne by the client every year at the 2 day free public event.

THE EVENT:

Researched and sourced new suppliers for; bars, open top double decker bus stage, sound system, power, security & stewards, vinyl wrapping, fencing, wind tested canopy, frame and bespoke fixtures and fittings. Developed new bar structures and drinks menu to include cocktails and spirits, devise production procedures for large volume pre mixed cocktail batches for constantly supplied bars. Implement new security and stewarding processes and procedures in line with new imposed policing policies. Liaise to obtain local authorities licensing & consent for the installation of portable toilets on site (for the first time). Procure new sponsorship deals with beer, spirits and lifestyle / sports brands. Contact national and digital radio stations for live broadcasts to amplify the potential audience reach and coverage for the client and sponsors. Reduced overall event costs by 33%. Sourced sponsorship deals from Red Stripe, Havana Club & Puma. Secured 2 x year live broadcast on BBC Radio 1Xtra. The arena was officially recognised as the largest attended Sound System at Notting Hill Carnival with over 75,000 people over the 2 day event. Increased overall on site revenues by 300% through, ‘pay per use’ portable toilets, bar income / new drinks menu, and sponsorship income. Client made a profit for the first time in its 30 year history at the Notting Hill Carnival.
